Almost every day we see new trends appear on TikTok. Of course, these trends are not so popular for nothing, because they are things that people relate to. One of the latest trends is having a ‘lazy girl job’. But what exactly is this? And why are so many people fans of it.

TikTok trend
We don’t know how TikTokers come up with these cool names, but one of the latest trends on the social media platform is having a lazy girl job and all the benefits that come with it. According to users, having such a lazy job is ‘really healthy’ for you. We explain exactly what having this job entails.
What is a lazy girl job?
Unfortunately, you can’t apply for lazy girl jobs yet, but the term is becoming increasingly popular. Lazy girl jobs are about having a job that requires little effort, where you can often work from home and your hours are flexible. Instead of exhausting yourself with long hours and endless deadlines, choose a job where you are in control. Think sending a few emails a day, answering a few phone calls and taking extra long breaks. And all of that with a great salary.
Why is it healthy?
A word that does not appear in the job description of a lazy job is ‘stress’. With a lazy girl job you reduce the daily pressure and finally find a nice combination of work-life balance. No (chance of) burn-outs, no Sunday night nerves and you can focus more on the really important things in life. Your motto is not, ‘I live to work’, but ‘I work to live’. In the long term, that can be very nice for your overall happiness.
No career growth
Of course, lazy jobs also have disadvantages. The chance of career growth is much smaller. You can grow less on the corporate ladder and that can be annoying for some people. On the other hand, people who have the motto ‘I work to live’ often do not find career growth that important at all. It is not for everyone, but not everyone has to become CEO of a large company.
Ultimately, it is important that you do work that makes you happy. Whether that is working 80 hours a week, or 28 hours with a lot of freedom. Do what makes you happy and then everything will be fine!
