Tomorrow is the day: the new book by royal biographer Robert Hardman will be released! The book contains a lot of new revelations about Charles and the rest of the family, for example about the death of Queen Elizabeth. In addition, Hardman also talks about what the royals really think of The Crown.
According to the book, a source close to William once said: “The prince… rolls his eyes when people say ‘it’s just drama’”. Yet he does not want to give it more publicity, because “he does not like to always be seen as a complainer,” according to the author.
What does William like to watch? Action movies! “Superhero movies in particular seem to be a favorite, especially Deadpool and anything related to Batman,” Hardman wrote, according to the Daily Mail.
Prince Harry on The Crown
Unfortunately, William will not be watching The Crown himself any time soon. His brother Harry, on the other hand, has less difficulty with the series. In a 2021 interview with James Corden, he said: “They don’t pretend it’s news. It’s fiction. But it is loosely based on truth. Of course it is not strictly accurate.”
The Duke of Sussex continued: “It gives you a rough idea of what that lifestyle is like, what happens when you have the pressure to put duty and service above family and everything else.”
He also feels a lot more comfortable with The Crown than with all the stories written in the media about his family, his wife and himself. “[The Crown] is clearly fiction – freely interpretable. But in those articles they pretend that they are facts, because it appears in the news. I really have a problem with that.”
