These Olympic Athletes You Need to Follow on TikTok

The Paris Olympics are in full swing. And watching the events themselves is exciting enough, but the athletes themselves have a lot of fun to share. You should definitely follow these athletes on TikTok!

Body positivity and humor by Ilona Maher

Ilona Maher is part of Team USA. She is a rugby player who won a bronze medal with her team this week. Ilona is a true role model and a very fun person to follow on social media. She makes videos about body positivity, which are certainly important in the sports world and beyond. She also makes funny videos about what it is like to be an athlete in the Olympic village in Paris. For example, she makes videos about the cardboard beds the athletes sleep on or about meeting potential partners in ‘the villa’. The Olympic Games may not be Love Island, but Ilona doesn’t care.

The Most Iconic Olympian: Simone Biles

Simone Biles is perhaps one of the most famous athletes in the world. She is an American gymnast who this week managed to win a gold medal with her team. On her TikTok account she makes videos with her teammates that show what it is like to participate in the Olympic Games. In addition, she does fun trends here and there that show her personality. In addition, she has also posted several videos this week to celebrate her winning gold. Simone is an inspiration and certainly fun to follow.

Henrik Christiansen aka the muffin man

The Olympics don’t always have to be super serious, as this Norwegian swimmer proves. Since he’s been in Paris, Henrik has developed a slight obsession with the chocolate muffins that can be found in the dining hall of the Olympic village. On his TikTok page, you can find almost exclusively videos that have to do with the muffins in one way or another. Perhaps the best part is that other athletes join in on his craziness. One of the most memorable things about these Games will most likely be that addictive muffin.

Tom Daley, the cutest knitting diver

Top-level sport is very intensive and tough. How do you keep yourself calm between competing? By knitting! At least, that is what British diver Tom Daley does. During the broadcasts of the Games, he can often be seen with a pile of wool and his knitting needles. During his stay in Paris, Tom worked on a sweater that serves as a perfect souvenir of this unique experience.
