Not finished studying yet? 6 ways to continue learning after your studies

Whether you want to make a career change or broaden your knowledge about your current field of work: Learning more is always a good step. But how do you do that?

1. Learning through interviews

“The bold own half the world” and it really is. If you are interested in something or someone, just ask them to explain it to you. Send them an email and ask if they are available for an interview and before you know it you will know everything about something you are interested in. It might even open up some new opportunities!

2. Watching documentaries

Do you want to delve into a subject, but don’t know how? There is a documentary about almost everything, which often describes in detail what your subject entails. A good excuse to spend another evening on the couch: Netflix, Youtube and other streaming sites have enough on offer.

3. Listen to the news

You are better informed about what is happening around you if you follow the news. That means: turn on the television in the morning, turn on the radio in the car and turn on news notifications on your phone. You can also subscribe to a newspaper of your choice, or follow news accounts on social media. This way you automatically delve into what is happening in daily life.

4. Take an online course

The internet can teach you literally every skill there is. For a small fee, and sometimes for free, you can delve into anything you want to learn more about. And that in the comfort of your own time and your own environment! Not only can you get the job of your dreams, courses can also help you gain more insight into your life or gain more financial control.

5. Read books

Don’t like reading? That’s a shame, because your intellectual self only benefits from it. Then choose a book about the subject that interests you, because otherwise you won’t keep it up for long. Look online for which books are the best for beginners and which books have the best reviews. Agree with yourself that you will read for about twenty minutes every day, or make it a whole chapter. That way you will learn a little more every day.

6. Learning while doing chores

Some chores are easy to do while doing something else. For example, tidy the house, fold laundry, do the dishes, or cook dinner while studying. You can easily learn a new language while doing these household chores: you’re doing something good and learning something new.
