We haven’t seen the princess this glamorous in a long time!
Last night a good dose of glamor was put out again in atmospheric Luxembourg! At the state banquet with the Czech president and his wife, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa and her daughter-in-law, Princess Stéphanie, shone in a set of beautiful jewel tones.
State visit
Only two days. That is how long the visit of Czech President Petr Pavel and his wife Eva Pavlová to picturesque Luxembourg lasts. And that of course means that the program is well planned with official visits.
All very important of course, but as glamor lovers we were especially looking forward to the traditional state banquet that ended the first day, where Grand Duke Henri and Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume made an appearance with their wives in full regalia. And luckily our patience was rewarded!
Regal outfits
Photos shared by the Cour Grand Ducale from the evening show the grand ducal ladies turning up stylishly in dark jewel tones. Only first lady Eva Pavlová doesn’t seem to have gotten the memo, but let’s be honest: she also looks radiant in her red dress.

For the occasion, Maria Teresa opted for a deep blue dress with a subtle slit and a pleat detail at the waist. She combines this with the Belgian scroll tiara, which ended up with the Luxembourg Grand Duchess via her late mother-in-law, Princess Joséphine-Charlotte of Belgium.
The absolute star of the evening? As far as we are concerned, that is really Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie. We are not always fans of her fashion choices, but here the princess really deserves a lot of praise. Her deep green velvet gown, which she combined with the geometric Chaumet tiara with an impressive emerald, makes the princess shine. Chic and regal, but without too much fuss: this look gets five stars from us.
Parting
Today is the last day of the state visit, so there are still plenty of activities on the program. Today, visits will be made to the NATO office in Capellen, a European School in Mamer, and a campus of the University of Luxembourg. There will also be lunch with prominent politicians and nice discussions between the delegations. The day ends again in a festive atmosphere with a concert by ‘Martinů Strings Prague’ and a reception hosted by the Czech guests.
