If there’s one thing that can quickly distract us, it’s our phone. Especially if you work from home, this can be quite detrimental to your productivity. You think you can quickly answer that text, but you quickly lose focus. Do you also get easily distracted by your phone? With these tips that is a thing of the past.
Put your phone on silent
This goes without saying, but by turning off the sound on your phone you are much less likely to get distracted. Otherwise you feel the need to look immediately at every ‘pinggg’. And yes, even if you have the vibration function on, get out of that thing.
Turn off notifications
Do you always have your phone next to your laptop with the screen up? Then turning off the sound on your phone will not work. Fortunately, you can also turn off your notifications. You can turn off all notifications, but if you also use your phone for work, this is not always convenient. Then turn off all notifications from apps that you don’t need at that moment.
Do not disturb
Don’t feel like turning your notifications on and off with every app? Then there is another function you can use. So you really no longer have an excuse to get distracted from a notification. Thanks to the do-not-disturb function, you will still receive notifications, but your phone will not light up. You can also choose to never show some notifications on your lock screen. These are only visible when you unlock your phone.
Put your phone somewhere else
Don’t you need your phone while working? Then don’t put it nearby. When he is lying next to us, we are quickly tempted to take a look. Scrolling through Instagram for a few minutes and your concentration disappears like snow in the sun. If your phone is far away, you will not do this as quickly.
Make it a game
Do you have a colleague who has exactly the same problem? Then make a game of it. The first person to check his/her phone gets lunch. Now that’s good motivation to put your phone aside.
