Els has packed her bags and traveled to enchanting Scotland in search of love, as we see in B&B Vol Liefde. There she hopes to get to know ‘old snob’ Robert Jan better. It seems that Els feels completely at home with Robert Jan and even has some butterflies in her stomach. No wonder, because her last great love is already behind her. After a drastic chapter in her life, she is completely ready to open her heart again and embrace love.

But wait a minute… what do we actually know about Els’ love life? In B&B Vol Liefde they keep it all a bit secret, but luckily Els is a bit more open on Instagram. Through a Q&A it came to light that Els is actually a widow. In 2018 she lost her husband. Heavy story, but our tough Els doesn’t want to say too much about it. She only says the following: “Long story short: my two daughters are from a first marriage of almost twenty years. I got married for a second time in 2014 and he passed away in 2018. This is the only thing I want to say about it. Widow, that is.”

That sounds sad, but luckily Els also has many cheerful and fun facts to share! She is a proud mother of two daughters aged 32 and 31, and according to Els they are not only fun, but VERY fun. Although Scotland is not her favourite holiday destination, she loves the Alps and South Africa. Our tall queen is no less than 1.83 metres tall and worked as a stewardess at KLM in a previous life. Els looks at her life with a positive outlook and considers everything she has experienced as valuable learning moments. Her taste in music is wonderfully versatile: from dance music to classical pieces, as long as she can move to the music. And what about her favourite cuisine? Els loves Asian, Italian and Dutch cuisines – and she may have inherited Robert Jan’s love for game from Scotland. She is also crazy about that!
