According to Gala, the abdication is a mistake in the long term, says nobility expert Kim Bach: “It robs the whole thing of the magic.” After all, the role of a monarch is actually a lifelong commitment. Anyone who artificially shortens this is reducing it to a normal job. It also opens the door to problems in the future. “As soon as there are doubts about him as king, public opinion could demand an abdication, as his mother did,” he explains.
After all, Frederik already has a small problem with public opinion. He has an affair with the Mexican actress Genevieve Casanova (47) assumed. “The events in Madrid were an example of Frederik’s poor judgment,” says journalist Jakob Steen Olsen, according to Gala.
