In an interview with the Munich Merkur speaks Manuel now about his future plans. Although he doesn’t explicitly address the topic of the end of his career, he clarifies: “I never said that I would play until I was 40 – rather as long as I enjoy it, I can show my performance and I’m needed.” He still has sporting goals in mind “that still need a little time.” The year had quite an impact on him. Looking back, he is grateful for a lot of what happened.
Manuel So it remains unclear whether and for how long he still wants to play football. His fans would certainly welcome it if their favorite continued to be in goal for a while. His contract runs until June 2025.
