When she was 18 years old, she moved to New York with her boyfriend Wouter, where she had been there several times for work. The couple had already been together for three years. After New York she moved to Groningen with her boyfriend Wouter, and became pregnant with her first child Lymee. Later they had a daughter, Yuna. They now live with the whole family in Groningen.
Career
Ymre was 14 when it all started. While walking in the city with her mother, she registered for the ‘Elite Model Look’. She came second in this competition, so she was allowed to proceed to the international competition. She also came second there. Less than six months later, she was the face of Prada’s summer campaign, where she was offered a contract. Not shortly afterwards, in 2008, she also won the Dutch Model Award, thereby establishing her position in the fashion world. Since then, she has walked fashion shows for brands such as Jason Wu, Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuiton and Valentino. When she became pregnant with her daughter Lymee at the age of 20, she starred on the cover of Vogue. A few months later, she appeared in the magazine again, this time with her newborn daughter lovingly cradled on her chest. Three months after giving birth, she was back working for Dior and now she still travels a lot for work.
