Padded bag
During the Fashion Weeks in London, New York, Paris and Milan, everything revolved around striking statement accessories. A bag that immediately stood out because it was available in so many different brands? The quilted puffer bag. These soft, cushion-like bags were everywhere, both on the catwalks of Dior, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu, and on the streets. Do you still have a vintage copy lying around? Then you’re lucky!

We say ‘vintage’ because this bag model was once very popular. And that was due to none other than the then Princess Diana. Princes William and Harry’s mother was known for her tasteful looks with which she regularly set new trends. Mainly thanks to her striking accessories such as sunglasses, hats and beautiful bags. Although she often appeared with brands such as Chanel and Dior on her arm, her favorite bag was surprisingly simple yet stylish. And there is good news: this bag is now back in fashion.

The bag in question is a quilted copy of the brand Souleaido – which you can still buy 40 years later (!). Princess Diana often took it with her to informal occasions, such as the polo match where she appeared in the photo above.
