Willem-Alexander told a moving story with this tie

This website is often about dresses and hats. Today we take a trip to the badger language of King Willem-Alexander. In 2004 he told a moving story in this way.

Let’s first see which tie it is. Willem-Alexander wore it in 2004, at the wedding of Prince Friso and Mabel Wisse Smit. Subtle dots, black and white, actually far from striking.

It is no coincidence that he wore this tie on his brother’s Big Day. In May 2001, Prince Claus wore exactly the same tie at Constantijn’s wedding. And….

…. in 2002, at the wedding of Willem-Alexander and Máxima, too. So it was a tie that was specially reserved for his sons’ weddings.

Unfortunately, Prince Claus died in 2002, two years before his middle son was to marry. Because Prince Willem-Alexander wore his father’s tie, he was somewhat present. That our king attaches value to this also became clear during the inauguration. Although his cufflinks were unfortunately not visible during the inauguration, the RVD later announced that the king wore his father’s cufflinks during his inauguration, so that he would still be present.

As far as I’m concerned, beautiful symbolism.
