Are we going to see Elle Woods again?
Fans of Legally Blonde are in for a treat. The iconic film in which main character Elle Woods proves, against everyone’s expectations, that beauty and brains can go together, is getting a spin-off. And none other than Reese Witherspoon herself is in the production.

The American hit film was released in 2001. In Legally Blonde, Reese Witherspoon plays the rich, pink-clad fashionista Elle Woods, who is dumped by her boyfriend because he wants a smart girlfriend and that is not exactly Elle’s reputation. Tired of being labeled a “dumb blonde,” Elle decides to attend Harvard Law School in a desperate attempt to win him back. Against all odds, she excels in all her subjects and shatters the ‘dumb blonde’ stereotype. She’s more than just looks!
Third part
After the success of the first film, a second part and a successful musical version were released in 2003. Reese announced in 2018 that part three was also in development and the film was planned to be released in theaters in 2022. But unfortunately, much to the disappointment of the fans, this did not work out. We are still in the dark about when part three will be released.
Spinoff
But, there is also good news! Reese Witherspoon is currently working on a spin-off based on Legally Blonde. The American news and entertainment website E! News reports that the actress is developing the series for Amazon MGM Studios. The first episode will be written by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who were also responsible for the hit series The OC. That certainly promises to be a great success. In any case, we can’t wait!
