The rumors about Kate’s absence are no longer limited to the British. Last week our own Willem-Alexander already made fun of the ‘disappeared princess’, and now it is none other than Kim Kardashian who tries to make a joke about Catherine.

Princess Kate went under the knife in mid-January and we can’t expect her to appear in public again until Easter. Furthermore, it remains eerily quiet from Kensington Palace, and that has led to quite a few rumors. Like Charles, the princess is said to have cancer, be in a coma or have serious relationship problems with William. Some royalty watchers even dared to suspect that Kate would no longer be alive.

Mother’s Day snapshot

Good: the rumor mill continues to spin, despite frantic attempts by the royal family to prove the opposite of the conspiracy theories. However, that went painfully wrong when a Mother’s Day snapshot was posted on Instagram, which immediately made it clear that extensive experimentation had been done with Photoshop.

Our own Wim-Lex also seemed to have noticed the commotion surrounding the snapshot. During a working visit to Zutphen, where the king spoke to a group of children, he could not resist poking fun at his fellow royal. When one of the children tells the king that she has seen him in a photo with his whole family, the monarch says: “Really? At least I didn’t photoshop!”

Now it looks like our king has kicked off more celebrities to make fun of Princess Kate. Kim Kardashian has also not missed the fuss. “On my way to go find Kate,” the reality star jokingly writes with a set of snapshots.

Although many followers may laugh at Kim K’s post, the joke doesn’t sit well with everyone. “She is recovering from major surgery! Have a little respect,” it is written, among other things. Well: Kim will probably be the funniest at home, but whether she scores points here with the royal family is the question…
