To our great joy, the princess finally made her radiant appearance at the tennis tournament!
As Wimbledon fans waited in suspense to see who would take home this year’s winner, there was one question that was secretly on our minds even more: would Kate make an appearance or not? Well, that question has finally been answered, as the princess made an appearance at the prestigious tennis tournament this afternoon – and did so in style, of course.
Wimbledon
The Waleses are a sporty family, and a love of tennis is part of that. It is not without reason that Catherine has been the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, the legendary location where Wimbledon is held every year. It is a regular occurrence that Her Highness also attends a few matches. Sometimes alone, sometimes with her sister, sometimes with her husband at her side, and last year also with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
In addition, the princess is traditionally responsible for handing over the trophies to the big winners of the final. But whether she would do that this year was the question for a long time. After all, the princess previously announced the terrible news that she had been diagnosed with a form of cancer, and that is why she has – apart from a brief appearance at Trooping the Colour – stayed out of the spotlight for a while.
Princess Kate
Yesterday afternoon the Wimbledon women’s final took place. And while Kate is normally the one to present this trophy, this time the task was passed on to Wimbledon president Debbie Jevans.
For a moment we were afraid that she would have to miss the tournament altogether this year – but, to our great delight, the Princess of Wales made an appearance at the big men’s final of Wimbledon 2024 today! Together with daughter Charlotte and sister Pippa, Kate was present in the Royal Box to cheer on the tennis players with full dedication.

As we are used to from Kate, she chose a radiant outfit for this occasion. The princess wore a purple dress – one of the official colours of Wimbledon – by the brand Safiyaa. Incidentally, sister Pippa’s pink floral dress is from Beulah London. She previously wore it at the wedding of brother James Middleton.
Traditionally, at the end of the match, Kate was allowed to present the trophy to the big winner, Carlos Alcaraz.

Where is William?
If you’re currently searching the Royal Box for Prince William, we can already disappoint you: he won’t be there today. Not because he didn’t feel like it, but because there’s another important event planned: the final of the 2024 European Football Championship! Wills is currently in Berlin, where he’ll be attending the big match between Spain and England tonight. Will Prince George appear at his side? We can’t wait to see!
