A big step for the very young Spanish heir to the throne.
Today Princess Leonor landed in neighboring Portugal for an official visit to President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. This visit is the first official solo trip of the princess. Despite the fact that she is only eighteen years old, this shows that she is a promising successor!
Portugal
At the invitation of the President of Portugal, the Princess has travelled on an official visit. This is also Leonor’s first solo trip abroad. Her Majesty is received at the Palace of Belém by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
An earlier press release announced that the visit would focus on environmental protection and ocean conservation. “The choice of Portugal as the destination for the first official foreign trip of Her Royal Highness the Princess of Asturias reflects and strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and proximity that unite the two countries,” the message concluded.
Arrival
Today Leonor left for Portugal, after a traditional farewell on Spanish soil. The princess made an appearance in a bright red suit – completely like a full-fledged princess!
Of course Leo has his mother Letizia to copy from for the necessary business fashion. After all, Leti herself is not averse to a good power suit.
Super cool
We already knew that she was not shy when she gave her first public speech at the age of thirteen, reciting a passage from the Spanish constitution, and less than a year later gave a speech in four different languages. Wow!
We think it’s really cool that Leonor is making her first royal visit at such a young age. WWe know a few princesses who could learn a thing or two from that… In addition, the Spanish Crown Princess is completing a two-year military training, which fits perfectly with her fearless character.
Despite still being a teenager, Princess Leonor is acting very mature. We are certainly very curious about the results of this visit and can’t wait to see more of Leonor!
