Last year, Leonor successfully completed her first year of military training. Now it is time for a new step! The princess is starting a new phase of her studies, where she is immersed in the world of the navy.
The holidays are over and in many places the schools have started again. Also in Spain, where Princess Leonor is starting her second year of her military training. Yesterday she arrived at her school in Marín, immediately dressed in a navy uniform. Ready for a new school year!
Princess Leonor in the Navy
Last summer, the eldest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia had a chance to recover, but this week she really had to go through with it again. She had to exchange her haute couture suit for a military uniform, because Leonor officially started her second year at the Military Academy.
After a year in the army at the Military Academy of Zaragoza, Leonor has to start her second year at the Military Naval School in Marín. Unfamiliar territory for the princess, but luckily she was given a tour of her new school first.
Great enthusiasm
During the tour, the Princess was introduced to the grounds, took a look at the equipment, and was allowed to enter her name in the book of honor. There she wrote: “Today, with great enthusiasm, I join this Escuela Naval Militar to continue my military training. I am sure that here I will have the opportunity to learn a lot and share many important experiences with my classmates. With affection, Leonor, Princess of Asturias.”

Leonor’s school year
We hope that Leonor will feel at home on campus soon, because she will have to stay here at least until Christmas. After that, the princess will set sail and sail for six months on the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano. A really cool adventure of course, but perhaps less cool for Felipe and Leti. They will have to miss their eldest daughter for a long time.
Princess Leonor’s military training will take another two years in total. She will now start her training with the navy, but the following year she will also be training with the air force. Big plans for the princess, which will prepare her even better for her role as future queen of Spain!
