In the brand new series My Lady Jane, the world-famous story of the British Lady Jane Grey has been given a new look. The rich and juicy history of the Tudor world is slightly twisted in the new historical drama series on Prime Video. The reactions to X promise a lot of good. Excess, luxury, and of course a lot of scandal and sensation… no wonder we are all completely fans of Netflix series Bridgerton. Good news for lovers of a lavish costume drama: a new gem can now be streamed!
The new costume drama that recently launched on Prime Video is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand and Jodi Meadows. The streaming service itself announced the series as “a grand retelling of the story of Lady Jane Grey, but with a new costume. The damsel in distress saves herself – and then the kingdom”.
The story
The new series revolves around the headstrong Jane, who is unexpectedly and overnight crowned queen. Set in an alternate version of the Tudor dynasty (1485-1603), her sudden new role naturally comes with a fair amount of extravagant obstacles. She is the target of villains who have her back, to name a few…
That promises a lot of good! And if we can believe the first reactions to X, it is indeed worth watching. Several users of the platform are enthusiastic after an evening of binge watching.
