Picking up your healthy lifestyle again after the holidays: this is how you do it

This way you will feel fit again in no time.

An oliebol here, a glass of champagne there: how we enjoy all the delicacies during the holidays. The fact that we can also notice it on the scale afterwards is just a little less fun. We therefore share a number of tips that will help you get back to a healthy lifestyle in no time.

1. Drink water

We can’t say it often enough: drink enough water. Not only is water good for your body, it also gives you a feeling of fullness. Furthermore, drinking lots of water will also help you get rid of bloating more quickly – and now we feel incredibly bloated just after the holidays.

2. Go to bed early

By getting under the sheets early, you are less likely to be tempted to have another snack. In addition, by sleeping early you keep the cortisol hormones in balance. These hormones ensure that you get hungry less quickly – and you naturally want to avoid feeling hungry quickly.

3. Stock up on plenty of fruit and vegetables

The cupboard is probably still full of leftovers from the holidays, so it’s tempting to eat this. However, it is wiser to fill the refrigerator with fruit and vegetables. After all, your body could use some vitamins. Are you stuck with a lot of unhealthy cliques? Invite your brother, sister, uncle, friend or neighbor and give away your leftovers. She is happy, and you can continue on the healthy path again.

4. Get out the door

Do you find it difficult to do everything? delicacies to stay off? Then go out the door. Get your walking shoes out of the closet and go for a long walk. Exercise, fresh air and a healthy feeling are guaranteed.

5. Cut down on alcohol

It’s hard to turn down an alcoholic drink during the holidays, we understand. Therefore, enjoy them during the holidays and then leave these drinks alone. All these alcoholic drinks contain a lot of calories and make you retain a lot of fluid. Dry January has come at the right time!
