The previous season of Married at First Sight was a real drama! Not only were there hardly any matches that lasted, but the experts also received a lot of criticism. Apparently this was the wake-up call for RTL to completely change course for the new season.
New experts in Married at First Sight
In an interview with RTL Boulevard, Carlo Boszhard talked about his new role in the musical Moulin Rouge, but of course Married at First Sight was also discussed. Although Carlo didn’t want to reveal too much, he did let us know that behind the scenes, they are working hard on new matches for the upcoming season. And now comes the kicker: these matches are made by… New experts! “There are new experts…”, says Boszhard.
Eveline Stallaart reveals nothing
Sexologist Eveline Stallaart, who was present during the broadcast of RTL Boulevard, was asked by Luuk Ikink: “Eveline, who are your new colleagues?” Unfortunately, she couldn’t say much about it: “Yes, you’ll hear that soon, you know.” Luuk couldn’t wait to hear more, but Eveline kept her lips tightly sealed: “Unfortunately. We’re very busy with the new season. We’re going to do it completely differently. It’s going to be great. But you’ll hear it.”
Experts distance themselves from program
After the last season of Married at First Sight, the experts were heavily criticized. Many viewers wondered whether the matches were really made with true love in mind, or whether they were mainly intended for juicy TV drama. It turned out that the editors of RTL had quite a bit of influence on the matching process, which caused quite a stir. In the end, behavioral biologist Patrick van Veen, who was involved for six seasons, threw in the towel. Professional matchmaker Radboud Visser also decided to say goodbye to the program.
New season of Married at First Sight
Now only Eveline and relationship coach Anne Campagne remain as familiar faces, but who knows, they might completely change course this season and we will see completely new experts! Fingers crossed for better matches, because we want to see true love blossom! Think of Astleigh and Rowan, who are even expecting a MAFS baby soon, or Jeppe and Jantine, who will say yes to each other again in October. When the new season of Married at First Sight will be broadcast is still a surprise. But one thing is for sure: we can’t wait!
