A series that we all secretly swoon over… Virgin River of course! It’s been a while since season 5 (and the Christmas episodes) were aired, so chances are you’re already ‘caught up’. So now you’re probably eagerly awaiting the release date of season 6. Luckily for you (and us), that date is closer than you think.

Virgin River Season 6
The Netflix series Virgin River has become very popular in a short time, partly due to the chemistry between main characters Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan. Although the series ‘only’ started in 2019, season 6 is already on its way. OMG! For the fans of Virgin River, that is only fun. There is a good chance that fans will binge-watch the series in no time.
In February 2024, filming for Virgin River season 6 started, on February 2, 2024 to be precise. According to American media, filming then continued until May 17. The makers actually wanted to start the new season earlier. However, the strikes in Hollywood intervened, causing production to come to a standstill – as with many other series and films.
Storylines
Virgin River fans can expect an interesting storyline for season 6. If you have already seen the entire season including the Christmas episodes, then you know more or less where the storylines ended. The biggest plot twist was probably that Mel’s biological father contacted his daughter after all. So we will definitely get to know him better in season 6! In addition, power couple Hope and Doc are getting married again, Lizzie and Dennie are expecting their first child and Brady’s girlfriend apparently has a secret agenda. Ah oh! The last episodes of season 5 have given the makers enough material for new stories.
Release date
That’s all well and good, but now we’d also like to know when season 6 will actually be available. The initial expectations were that we would have to do without Virgin River altogether in 2024, but Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos has good news for us. According to him, we can still expect the new season this year. “Just before the end of this year, we have the return of Squid Game, Emily in Paris, a new season of Selling Sunset, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Diplomat, Virgin River, Love is Blind,” Sarandos said during a quarterly presentation. “That’s all coming just before the end of the year.” So we don’t have an exact date yet, but it won’t be long now!
