How you design your phone’s home screen might not sound like a big deal, but it’s actually pretty personal. A new iPhone update is on the way that will let you make your home screen even more your own. Here’s what you need to know.
The latest iPhone update
From September, the latest IPhone update, IOS 18, will be ready for us. This update will bring many new things. But the new feature that we are most looking forward to is the extended home screen function. Previously, you could only arrange your apps in one way. The apps started at the top left of your screen and always formed rows of four apps next to each other. With the latest update, you can determine where your apps are placed on the screen. This way, you can create a completely unique layout that compliments your beautiful background. For example, if you have a photo of something or someone on your background, you can place your apps nicely around it. The same goes for widgets, of course.
Custom app icons
Perhaps the coolest thing about this new update is that you will soon be able to give your app icons their own look. All apps have their own icon that is determined by the designers of the app, but you will soon be able to change this. For example, if you use your phone in dark mode, you can also make the apps dark so that they blend in nicely with your background. Do you have a background with a specific color? Then you can also make the icons that color so that everything becomes a nice whole. This new update gives us the opportunity to make our phone completely our own. This way, your phone fits completely within your aesthetic.
More AI
In addition to these cool new features, your iPhone will soon also get more features that are controlled by AI or artificial intelligence. AI is big in the tech world at the moment, so we will see this technology more and more in the future. With the new update, for example, we will soon be able to create our own emojis using AI. So if there is an emoji that does not yet exist but that you really want to use, thanks to the new update you will soon be able to! Siri has also received an update. When you activate Siri, a shiny border appears around your screen that shows that Siri is listening to you. This takes up less space, which can be very useful in specific situations.
